We arrived at the Kansai Airport from Hong Kong around noontime. Coming from a long flight, it was a bit disoriented when we landed. It took us a bit to gather our wits to pick up our luggage and go through custom. Once we passed through, we head to the top floor to look for the JR Information Services to exchanged our voucher to the actual JR Rail Pass. Once we obtained our passes, we hopped onto the next JR Limited Express Haruka to Kyoto to check in at our AirBnb that was near the Nijo Station. The area that we stayed was residential and quiet. Nothing fancy like the bustling streets of downtown. I figured the best way to experience Japan was to live like the locals, and we certainly did.
